Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to speak English fluently if I’m a beginner?

It’s not easy to say exactly because it depends on many things. These include your age, how much you study outside class, how many hours you have classes each week, and your first language. Usually, it takes around 700 to 800 hours of study to reach an advanced level (C1), where you can speak well in most situations.

How can I find out what my English level is?

There are many ways to find out your level of English. You can refer to CEFR guidelines, which show what learners at different levels should be able to do. You can also ask an English teacher to assess your skills and tell you your level. The easiest way, however, is to take the comprehensive placement test on our website and book a live online speaking test to get a detailed understanding of your level.

Can I improve my English by studying on my own?

Yes, it’s possible to improve your English by studying on your own, but there are a few things to consider. For lower-level students, self-study is not recommended because it can take a long time to understand meanings and rules, which can be tiring and challenging. Even higher-level students will benefit more from studying with a teacher, as it allows them to practice with someone proficient in English, which is extremely helpful for language learning. It’s always better to study with a teacher, especially at English Therapy, where your teachers also act as language therapists.

Can I register for more than one course?

Yes, you can enroll in more than one course. Just make sure to manage your time and commit to the learning hours required for each course you choose. Please note that some courses have an entry requirement of B1 or higher. If you do not meet this level, you won’t be able to enroll in those courses.

How can I choose the best teacher for me?

All the teachers at English Therapy are qualified and share the same goal as we do. They are trained to use the teaching methods and strategies we have developed. Your choice of teacher will depend on their availability and your timetable. However, it’s important to remember that having the best teacher is only one part of learning a language. Your progress also relies on your own efforts and dedication to learning.

Test Your English Level

We have a variety of placement tests on our website to check your English level. Some tests are quick, taking under 30 minutes, while others may take up to an hour. You’ll receive your results right after you complete the test. Each test includes a live online speaking section with a real teacher, who will provide detailed feedback about your level.
